Last week we defined and discussed the concepts of secularism and humanism.
This week we’ll be meeting on Thursday in Fulton 103 at 6.30pm to discuss a pretty big topic, and we’ll be applying last week’s thinking to a current-affairs situation:
Israel and the Palestinian Territories – how would secularism influence the conflict?
It’s a complex and political situation, but don’t worry if you don’t know much about it. We’ll be taking it slow with some introductory footage and doing some explanation of the conflicting narratives that influence and sustain the ongoing problems.
As usual, we’ll have some clips from online, followed by a discussion in small groups before we open it up to the room.
Possibly pub afterwards, depending on time and inclination.
